Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
I was known as a very caring and competitive little girl. I love sports and always tried new things. I also always put people who need help before me. I celebrated my 10th birthday in a cancer hospital to help the children and the elderly. Additionally, I flew to tacloban at the age 12 to help the victims of typhoon Yolanda. I donate and sell my old cloths in order to reduce as much waste as possible and gave the proceeds to help the people there.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
When I was 14 to 16, these were the hardest years of my life. I had to stop school for a bit and really focus on my self. I let the bullying get to me and I had to learn how to find ways to be happy so that I could grow as a person. Modeling saved me as I always dreamed of becoming one and I knew it would help me with my self confidence. When I found myself again I pushed through to finishing high school. I’ve learnt that no matter how hard life gets things will always get better you just have to do things that make you happy and life will just go as planned.
Most memorable moment:
I was born in Malaysia and would have to constantly fly between the Philippines and Malaysia. Something that ill always remember is that my mum has lots of filipino friends in Malaysia and they would always have pot lock, mini parties and sing karaoke together. I would always come back home from school seeing my mum’s friends there with their sons and daughters and I would play with the kids my age and it was just such heart warming environment that ill never forget.
Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
As a girl who’s born in the city but always travels outside the city, I see the Beauty in both worlds and it’s heart breaking to see climate change not just online but with my own eyes and I want to stand and use my voice to protect and prevent destruction of the world we live in and to make a better life for our future children. We don’t have much time left so I am here to make a change.
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My advocacy is to educate the people and children in the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling. I want to educate how important it is and to make it a daily habit to help save Mother Earth.
What tip can you share to promote eco-tourism in your City or Municipality?
Transportation is very important when it comes to exploring the area and I’ve seen lots of people who use motor bikes as it is fast and you can get to places a lot quicker. However, E-bikes are now a great alternative to traditional forms of transport and even though they are not as popular I want to promote them as they are much more sustainable and better for the environment. It will also be a lot cheeper to recharge ebikes than to fill traditional bikes with petrol.
