BAGO City: Catherine Joy Marin

Describe your childhood/growing years (8-13 years old)
According to my family, I was extraordinarily curious that it always gave me the confidence to discover new things and in facing any kinds of fears.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
That I must be open to the world and be prepared in anything that might come my way.

Most memorable moment
When I and my family completely reconciled.

What is the most unusual thing you've ever done?
When I was 2, out of curiosity, I intentionally tried to put something inside my nostrils and it took weeks for my mom and even the doctors to take it out.

What is your ambition in life?
To finally make all my dreams come true, to achieve my goals and to be the best that I can be.

Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
Simply because this is not just my dream but because I believe that this is the way for me to create a better relationship with nature and to influence other people through my advocacies to encourage them in being the children of the Earth.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My Environmental Advocacy is the “Bantay Katunggan” which means “Protecting the Nature. I chose this because this a great wake up call, this is the core in saving the Earth, this is the greatest chance we’ve got in saving our home and I believe that through spreading this, it can encourage the children of the Earth to do their parts and have a heart in healing and saving the Earth.
